Celebrating Excellence and Success: Port Rex Technical High School’s Remarkable Annual Prize Giving Ceremony
This year’s glitzy prize giving was held on the evening of the 9th of October. As always, it was one of the year’s highlights as It is the most formal event in the school calendar, one where we can acknowledge the top students in the school, throughout the year, in both sports and academics. We were privileged to hear from the guest speaker, Mr Roy Angelbeck, an old pupil who did not disappoint in his motivational message to the learners.
The headmaster also delivered his annual report which reminded us of the many activities that the school and our students took part in since the last prize giving, whether it was in sports, academics, or cultural spheres of the school.
The highlights of the event, besides the individual prize winners, were undoubtedly the announcement of the new prefects and the headmaster’s special awards. These are the premium awards of the evening – nominated, seconded and elected by the Port Rex Staff – the recipients of these awards were not aware of the fact that they were nominated or elected until the night of Prize Giving. The following special awards were awarded as such.
THE ROB PIDERIT MEMORIAL TROPHY FOR DEMONSTRATING THE VALUES OF A TRUE PORT REXIAN: David Bwema
