Celebrating Excellence and Success: Port Rex Technical High School’s Remarkable Annual Prize Giving Ceremony
Port Rex Technical High School’s De La Salle Hall was the setting for an extraordinary event on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The Annual Prize Giving Ceremony proved to be a night of celebration and recognition, honoring the commendable achievements of students in both academic and sporting domains.
The ceremony welcomed esteemed guests, including Former Headmaster Mr Venter and his wife, Mrs Venter, as well as School Governing Body Members Mr Els and Mr Masimini accompanied by their spouses. Additionally, the Guest Speaker Ex-Port Rexian, and former SGB member Mr Graham Cowley, together with his wife Mrs Cowley, graced the event, adding a touch of prestige and honour.
One of the most coveted accolades of the night, the DUX award, was presented to Antonio Goddard, marking his exceptional academic achievements and dedication. Antonio’s commitment to excellence stands as an inspiration to the entire school community.
Headmaster Ettiene Theron shared a compelling annual report during the ceremony, proudly highlighting the school’s numerous accomplishments and triumphs throughout the year. His report underlined the school’s continuous pursuit of excellence and the remarkable strides made in various fields.
A heartfelt tribute was paid to the outgoing 2022/2023 Prefect Body for their exemplary service and outstanding contributions during their tenure. Their dedication and leadership were acknowledged with gratitude.
In an exciting moment, the school proudly announced the names of the 2023/2024 Prefect Body, setting the stage for a new era of leadership and commitment to serve the school community.
The De La Salle Hall was filled with an atmosphere of pride, acknowledgment, and enthusiasm, as students, parents, teachers, and honored guests joined together to celebrate the achievements of the school and its bright young minds.
